Ten easy ways to save water at work
1. Fix leaking taps and other leaking water operated equipment (e.g. water cooled heat exhangers, process water cooling and washing etc).
2. Fit regulated flushes to toilets.
3. Fit diffusers to kitchen sink taps.
4. For urinals, fit water saving flushes which operate only after each visit and turn off at night.
5. Never leave taps running - automatic off taps are essential.
6. Where showers are installed, fit low flow heads (except to safety showers).
7. Use collected rainwater to keep indoor plants thriving, and consider rainwater harvesting for external landscaping
8. Use recycled rainwater for all non-hygiene related applications.
9. Recycle industrial process water where possible.
10. Set up a water usage and saving committee, meeting regularly to identify further water-saving measures.
