Save the Rain Campaign objectives

To significantly reduce the UK’s consumption of our increasingly scarce drinking water supplies by saving and re-using rainwater
To ensure sustainable use of the UK’s water resources by encouraging a greater sense of personal responsibility for every day water conservation.
Save the Rain will campaign for:
- Changes in the building regulation and planning laws to make rainwater harvesting compulsory in all new buildings within three years.
- Significant use of Rainwater Harvesting on fast-track new developments being planned in the South East.
- Availability of grants for homeowners to install a rainwater harvesting system in existing properties.

Work with UK national governments and agencies to achieve necessary changes in legislation and changes in guidance on water saving measures.
Recruit public support to the campaign through a campaign website.

Advice on how to save water in homes and offices, thereby reducing the overall demand on drinking water supplies
Detailed and accurate information on rainwater harvesting systems, their benefits, suitability and correct installation.
